Here we go with the pictures again. I call it Pecan Lace. It seems to be my favorite tree cause it is there to great me when I go out on the front porch. Would try to draw or paint it but even a picture doesn't do it justice. I keep taking these baby steps to toward something that I am not even sure of the destination. What they say is true, "it about the journey". Have tried to stay busy, but memories keep sneaking in and dreams. But it helps to say "good night" to the sun.  And me and the dogs will go and say "Hello" as it comes up. And as the pecans and other trees get their "summer wear" we all can know there is a continuance. It is up to us to make the best of it.

We went to the Flint River March 24, 2012. We didn't go to the head waters because that was a concrete culvert in the bad part of town of Atlanta. Instead we went to Sprewell Bluff Park near Thomaston, Ga. Glad we did as you can see it is beautiful there. The Flint River keepers have been successful blocking plans to dam up part of the Flint so Atlanta can have more water. They also along with other River keeper in the state block the "Dead Head Logging" bill which would have allowed speculators to go in and bring logs that are sunk on the river bed, tearing up the river bed and disturbing the wild life and fish. Oh and the bill that would have allowed the fish farms to raise talapia was also stopped for this session. So despite the Governor and his cronies the rivers are OK for awhile. But the Ogeechee keepers suffered a defeat when they tried to sue this company for a chemical spill they felt contributed a large fish kill. The judge said their case didn't have merit. But I think they are going to appeal.
Here Linden is "launching" the crystals out into the center as best she could. The river is very gentle here there were kids tubing, people fly fishing, some like us just sitting and watching the river go by. It is a nice area to interact with the river, a canoe went by. The sun danced on the water like diamonds.

You have heard of "Old Man of the Sea" well here is my version of "Old Woman of the River". Would like to go back one day. But, I have 5 more rivers to visit. By doing this we can not only bless those rivers, but those rivers flow into either the Gulf or the Atlantic.
This is kind of a long blog but this one wanted to be included. Linden took this one. Such a nice stone. It was very appreciative of everything we did. It allowed Linden to use it's back to get closer to the center of the river. We even left the river a little rose bud. The River Spirit remained calm and serene, but the excitement was also felt from the addition of the crystals. The Flint River Spirit was happy that we came.

Last evening I was sitting on the back porch it had begun to rain a little. The hawks were really screaming, there were two of them. Not sure if they had a quarrel with each other or warning off interlopers. Never the less I could hear them and see them occasionally swooping over the Medicine Wheel. Then one gave one last loud screech and fly off. All was quiet again. Not sure anything was really settled. Us humans can be that way much screeching but in the end not much settled. We "hear more" in the silence.

So perhaps go to the silence for answers. And as I told a friend the other day, maybe move at the "speed of understanding". Sometimes we caught up in the "so much to do" mode.

Oh, a remembrance today is my son's 47th. birthday. Boy he is getting old! What a time that was. Jim's Dad was recovering from a heart attack. Jim had a broken right leg with a cast up to his crotch. And me out to there pregnant. A friend had rigged our car which was a standard shift with a device so that Jim could operate the gas with a hand lever. When we showed up at the EC, they didn't know who to put into the wheelchair. Me huge or Jim on crutches. Those were the days. We didn't know how happy we were.

Cloudy windy raining sun out every once in awhile. Maybe it is because it is tax time.  Finally got my straight, will find out Monday when I take everything to the bookkeeper. While I am looking for ways to save the Earth, I can hear Jim saying "better save where you are first". So hopefully I am "safe" for  another year. I have these manic phases but fewer of late, but am being kind of consumed by this save the rivers plan. Starting with the Flint and Chattahoochee but looking at the Georgia river system it is pretty expansive. If we don't preserve the water the rest will be lost.

Leave for Santa Fe next week. That trip getting harder and harder. Not sure why, used to look forward to it. I still believe in the teaching and the energy that can be generated for healing. Just that part of my view has changed, but we shall see. Don't have all the answers, but if you have just one isn't that good enough?
